Good old TV.
Kids these days have so many options when it comes to entertainment. The goggle box offers a host of kids’ shows - some educational, some not so. Picking the right programs is as important as limiting the amount of time a kid spends in front of the boob tube.
Recently, I picked up Hanna-Barbera’s old production of EB White’s classic book, Charlotte’s Web, on DVD for Alison. She has been watching so many popular character shows that I felt it was time to revisit the good old days of wholesome television. Charlotte’s Web is a heart-warming tale and has many lessons to teach children about love, trust and friendship. It’s a very welcome alternative to today’s offerings, many of which seem to propagate negative values like selfishness and greed.

This was the first movie I ever saw at a movie theater. I was 5, and went with my Dad because we had School Matinee tickets. I still love it. My boys are pretty fond of it too, because they really like animals. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the first Babe movie either.
