Beth’s challenge: Do good
Beth from over at Diary of a Playgroup Dropout has issued a challenge to all us moms (and dads, aunts, uncles, etc etc) out there in the blogosphere: Do GOOD. Do one thing a month that does some good for a kid. It could be a charity donation, or helping out a child you know.
At my son’s school, a family lost everything because of a fire in the apartment below them. I put together a bag with a few school uniforms for the boy in my son’s class, and extra play clothes, and a Tigger to snuggle. Then I gathered up all the gift cards lovely folks had given me for Christmas and gave them to the boy’s mother: Macy’s, Toys R Us, Target. When the family is ready to move back into their apartment, I’ll help them find the furniture and household items they need to replace.
