Easy shopping!
Usually when I hit up Toys R Us, it’s about five days before Christmas because my husband and I are both massive procrastinators, and we tend to shop less than a week before the big day. Fun times! As you can imagine, a toy store is one of the most packed places in the world at that time of year. Other times we tend to go? Weekends. You know, when everyone but freelancers and people in retail are off of work and can go shopping for something that was made in China and painted pink or covered in Cars stickers. (I kid because I have to.)
My youngest turns two tomorrow (don’t get me started on the passage of time!) and my husband was off today, so we headed out this morning to Toys R Us to find the two gifts we were hoping for. Yes, the day before her birthday. See above about procrastinators. :)
Much to my shock, it was practically a ghost town. There were maybe ten other people in the entire store, not counting staff. I should have known that a store would be mostly empty at 9:30 on a Monday morning, but I’ve never actually seen it that empty.
I think when we finally get our butts in gear for holiday purchases, we’ll try to go on a Monday morning again. It was wonderful to walk in, locate the tea party set and the play food set we wanted, pay, and walk out. We even stopped for a few minutes so I could drool over the Wii, and even that only stretched out entire visit out to ten whole minutes.
Now let’s see if I can stop myself from just giving her the presents right now!
