Finding playdates
Okay moms. I can’t tell you how many days I have enjoyed at the park with just me and my two girls. But I can definitely tell you that the best times have been when we’ve happened upon another family there as well. My kids play with theirs and have even more fun than they do when it’s just the two of them and meanwhile I get a little bit of grown-up talk albeit of the shy variety.
The problem is it’s so sporadic. We don’t get many people at our park to begin with and often we’ll see someone once and then never see them again (I swear I shower).
I know some moms are great with networking and making playdates with other mothers they’ve just met. I don’t know how.
Do you do playdates other than with people you’ve known for years? Do you use online boards to find them? Notices at the library? “Mom cards” at the park?
I love playing at the park with my kids but I definitely wouldn’t say no to organized playdates. Share your experiences!
