Heartburn

by Sherry on May 7th, 2008

Tonight, my oldest daughter sat down on the floor crying. I thought she had stubbed her toe or some other minor thing but when I asked her what was wrong, she put her hand to her chest and said her heart hurt.

It’s not the first time she’s gotten heartburn but it was the first time she got it bad enough to make her cry. I rubbed her back and patted it to try to make her burp but it didn’t seem to work. Eventually I got her into bed and had her lie on her stomach. When I checked on her after getting the little one to bed, she said it was better.

I’m going to give our doctor a call tomorrow to find out what he thinks and to see if she needs to come in or if we should keep an eye out and bring her in if it happens again.

Have any of you ever dealt with heartburn in young children? I don’t remember really ever getting it until I was quite a bit older.
