In-school breakfast

My daughter’s school has started up a breakfast program for the kids - they’re starting it late but they’re sort of using it as a test run to see if there’s enough interest to continue it in the years to come. It’s subsidized by the government and is dirt cheap. The main purpose is to make sure there aren’t any kids slipping through the cracks as far as nutrition goes, kids who aren’t eating breakfast before school either because their parents can’t afford it or they just don’t have the time because of work schedules.
However, it’s open to anyone and I jumped on it because my daughter is not a big fan of eating first thing in the morning. I sort of thought that we could try it out and see if she has a better time eating if she’s already been up and dressed for half an hour or so. I’m probably going to start sending her next week; they only have to be there 20 minutes earlier than we normally get there, and those 20 minutes are the ones where I’m usually telling her to please hurry up and finish her bowl of cereal or her toast, so that would be fine with me.
They need parents to volunteer, so I had said that maybe I could volunteer one morning a week - I couldn’t commit to more because of work. However, that’s just not going to work out. Apparently the volunteers have to arrive by 6:30 am to set up and prepare for the arrival. The thing is, as far as I understand, there’s no cooking involved, just set up and I’m not sure why they need almost an hour to do that. Regardless, there’s no way I can get there for 6:30 am. I can’t bring the kids with me so it would mean I’d either have to race back home to get my daughter or my husband would have to bring her and that doesn’t always work with work schedules.
Also, I have a hard enough time getting up at 6:30 and dragging my daughter out of bed. I usually work late at night so it would pretty well kill me if I had to get up even earlier to get to the school by my usual wake up time.
Luckily they seem to have enough volunteers to keep it going so I’m going to gracefully decline. I’ll stick to volunteering for class field trips!
