Melt away stress with Johnson & Johnson

by Sherry on May 26th, 2008

I was very excited to have the opportunity to try out a sample of the new Johnson & Johnson line of lotions for adults. After all, the baby version has always done wonderful things for my children to keep their skin nice and soft.

Johnson Melt Away Stress

The new line is Johnson’s Melt Away Stress products - I am frequently a little more stressed than I’d like to be, what with trying to balance everything, so I was definitely eager to try them out.

I’m not sure if I can say that the products actually reduced my stress levels, but I’m not sure anything but a prescription or a vacation would really do that for me! However, I can tell you that as soon as my sample bottles are empty, I’m going to go buy replacements. Why? Because after a lifetime of suffering from dry skin, I am feeling soft and smooth.

First I tried the body wash. It’s not foaming or sudsy, it’s like washing yourself with lotion. It feels wonderful going on and it rinses clean easily (I have really hard water so leftover soap residue is often a problem here). The best part is that when you step out of the bath or shower, you already feel smooth because it won’t strip the moisture from your skin like harsh soaps.

After drying off I tried out the body lotion. It’s a great moisturizer because it sinks into your skin quickly, making it convenient even if you’re in a hurry to get dressed. It’s primarily responsible for my skin feeling so soft. After a long Winter of blasting our heaters, my skin had become almost bumpy in its dryness, but not anymore.

At night I used their intensive lotion on some of my more troublesome spots, such as my feet, knees, and elbows. I can’t remember ever having feet that weren’t cracked and peeling, but that is no longer the case - I can actually wear sandals or go barefoot without feeling embarrassed and hoping that no one is looking at my feet.

The only product I haven’t tried yet is the massaging moisturizer, mostly because massaging my own legs or shoulders never feels as good as having someone else do it, and I haven’t gotten around to asking my husband to try it. However, based on the other three lotions, I have no doubt it’s great as well.

The line has a wonderful lavender scent. It’s a bit strong when you first rub it in but once it’s absorbed it just leaves behind a pleasant fragrance. I’ve always been a big fan of lavender and although it doesn’t disarm my stress, it’s still relaxing in and of itself.

We do a lot as mothers when it comes to taking care of our kids but sometimes we slack off a bit too much when it’s time to care for ourselves. I don’t have the luxury of booking a spa visit for myself, but at least I can afford and take the time to take care of my skin. I highly recommend the Johnson’s Melt Away Stress line to any mother, stressed out or not!
