Giveaway: Win a Casio Waveceptor Watch for Dad!

by Heather on June 10th, 2008

casio waveceptor

Casio’s newest Waveceptor timepiece will keep any dad looking and feeling his best everyday! Sleek and functional, the Waveceptor timepiece suits any dad’s lifestyle whether he is an esteemed businessman or true outdoorsman.

~ The Waveceptor eliminates the worry of changing your watch for Daylight Saving Time as several times a day it receives the official US government time via a time calibration signal from the atomic transmitter in Ft. Collins, CO.

~ The Waveceptor also features a perpetual calendar, eliminating the need to adjust your watch for calendar month to month inconsistencies and Leap Year.

~ Additional features include 3 daily alarms, LED light with afterglow, stopwatch, and 100M water resistance among others.

~ A $99.95 value.

To Enter

Leave a comment here telling us why your dad or your husband is the greatest dad ever! That’s it! The contest runs until midnight on Friday, June 13 and one winner will be chosen randomly from all participants who leave a valid entry (meaning you actually tell us why your dad or husband is awesome!) on Saturday the 14th. One entry per household only, please make sure you leave a valid email address when you enter.

Please keep in mind that the watch will not make it to you in time for Father’s Day on Sunday, but I’m sure Dad won’t mind!

My husband is the greatest. When my father died two years ago, he really stepped up in one of the hardest moments of my life, My whole family benefited from his help. He took charge of all the kids (13 of them) and allowed my siblings, mother, and I to do all the arrangements and he took care of all the small stuff we would have forgotten.

My husband is the best dad/grandfather. He has worked hard his whole life and helped raise two fine men. After his first wife died he remarried and adopted his second wifes girls. His second wife died about 5 years ago. He is the one that makes sure the family is one large family unit. He adores being a grandfather to his five grandkids and loves showing them the world and all it has to offer.

My partner (not husband, we aren’t married!) is the best father in the world because he has the knack with our son that I have never seen a man have before. Instantly, he held his son like he had been raising babies his whole life.

My Dad was very concerned about the health of our whole family, so he signed us all up for one of the nationally well-known diet plans. He then helped us all work together to be successful. The result - I lost 20 pounds, my Mom lost 55 pounds, and my Dad lost 115 pounds. This is one time when it was great to have a “nagging” Dad. I would like to reward him for his foresight and dilligence with a nice watch.

My father is the greatest because he has given up so much for my sisters and I. I do not think there was a time where I needed anything in life, my father busted his butt everyday to ensure that we had a nice life. All his money, time, and love went to us, without a regard to his own wellbeing. That is why I love my father and he is the greatest.

My Dad died when I was 19, but my Dad was the best Dad anyone could have ever had. Despite a busy schedule as a legislator, Dad always made time for me. He was never too busy to treat me to lunch or take me to the mall. He took me out of school early one day to go to a night Red Sox game. I only wish Dad was alive to see the Sox make the 2004 and 2007 World Series! He was also very kind and generous, always saying something nice to me, or slipping me a couple of dollars when my mom wasn’t looking. He and I enjoyed each other’s music, and we borrowed each other’s records–I his Benny Goodman, and he my Bob Seger!

I will never stop missing Dad, and would be doing well if I was even HALF as good a person as he was. Dad may be gone but he’s never forgotten. I would wear this watch myself to think of him every time I check the time (no pun intended!).

My husband is very handy around the house. It is a great comfort to me to know that he can fix just about anything that breaks. Growing up in a house without a dad, I really appreciate the worry that he takes off my shoulders whenever the washing machine overflows, birds make a nest in the eaves, or the pool lining rips. For the same reason, I appreciate him at night, as I am still a bit “afraid of the dark.” After three kids and 8 years of marriage, I am confident that he will always be here for us. While it may sound old fashioned, he is a great provider and protector. Plus, he makes me laugh, makes a mean pancake, and still tells me I look good. I wish everyone were as lucky. I would love to win this watch for my awesome husband. Thanks for such a fabulous giveaway!

My Dad is the best Dad ever because he has extended his “fatherhood” to two of my friends whose fathers had passed away, one when we were both in prep school 30+ years ago, and another prep school friend just this year. He has always an open heart and hearth for any of his grandchildren who want to visit OR move in (and my sister had 9, so it is not a small commitment). And for me, he let me move back home as an adult and gave me free room and board AND paid of my car loan when I decided to go to law school, and invited me to move back AGAIN after I was in a severe car accident, and could no longer work, and he continues to support me even though I’ve basically run out of cash, including paying off my remaining law school loan. His generosity of time, spirit and $$ does not end, despite the fact that he and Mom are on a fixed income and both are not in the pink of health. I could not ask for a better Dad, nor a better set of parents.

You know, this is difficult for me but I have seen my dad’s character to take care of the family. He has leukemia and not many years left (if that) and yet he is working hard as a mechanic nearly 10hrs a day to support our family. That is amazing to me, because his love for our family is stronger then his pain! He does have the option to get disability and just stay home, but he wants to take care of the family and secure a future for us when he is gone because disability pay is not much. He is a warrior to me. He would love this gift and he needs a new watch as well. Regardless if I win or not, my father has shown true character and love.

Somehow my husband manages to juggle full-time graduate school, our huge garden, training for ultra-marathons, all of our old-house projects AND have time for his kids everyday. And not just quality play time, but also time to help feed them dinner, give them baths and put them to bed. I’m not sure who is luckier- my kids or myself:-).

I have the best husband in the world. He’s not fancy, but he’s my best friend. He helps with the housework, does laundry and grocery shopping and takes me any where I need to go. I bought him a fancy watch one year and he ended up giving it to one of our sons. His poor watch is almost falling off his wrist. I think he’d really like and wear this watch and I’d love to win it for him.

My husband is an angel. During our 18 yrs of marriage, we’ve raised, his, mine and our kids, all girls (he was severely outnumbered). We’ve survived a suicide of someone very close; which caused me to have a nervous breakdown. He looked after all of the girls by himself as I was just unable to do so and he never complained once.

Now that all of our girls are out of the home we are looking after my mother who has very quickly advancing Alzheimers and my father who had a heart attack last week. My husband is driving my dad to all of his appts, doing all of their garden work etc.

He cooks for me every day as I have awful arthritis and still never complains.

This man I married truly deserves this watch I believe.

btw….his watch broke just the other day!

My dad is the best because he taught me in order to have the right to complain about something you first have to be part of the solution and try to make it better.

My husband has proved himself time and again that he is a wonderful dad. He coached our daughter’s basketball team for 5 years (teenage girls, NOT EASY!!). He never missed any of her school volleyball or club volleyball games or tournaments, and there were plenty. Now that she is 18 and in college, she still knows she has her dad to call. He coached our son’s basketball team for 1 year, and then acted as assistant coach for his baseball teams for 7 years. Now that he is in jr. high and playing school baseball and football, dad is at every game. He has always been there for me and the kids, and always will be. I hope he knows how much he is loved and appreciated:)

He walked into a ready made family (my 2 children and myself) without ever flinching and was a Perfect fit. He has always acted as if he was always here and has always been totally involved in everything from teacher’s conferences to the difficult teen years with never a complaint.

My dad is the best dad ever because he taught me to appreciate everyone from all different kinds of walks of life and to always treat everyone as an equal. He doesn’t have a hint of malice in him. He was a disciplinarian when he needed to be (one time after I stole a crayon when I was five, he made me write an apology letter, read it to the store owner, pay her out of my allowance, and I had to go with him to the soup kitchen for two weeks straight. Tough lesson, but one that was never forgotten). He also was a soft, gentle soul who let me stand on his shoes to dance with him, who was always there when I needed him.

I think my husband deserves this special gift for what he does for me. I don’t even have to ask him, but he will do the laundry, he does all the grocery shopping. He helps around the house alot, all I have to do is ask. He is always helping others and is always there for his kids. He is very giving and unselfish. That is alot to ask of a husband, and father.

I can’t say that my Dad is the best ever. There are a lot of GREAT dads out there and I don’t want to insult them. The best dads are the ones that are unselflish and leave their families to serve their countries. This helps keep our country safe for their children, too.

  • Joanna Smith
    Jun 12, 2008 at 6:46 pm

My husband Hudson is the best of both worlds, the savvy businessman by day and the rugged sports enthusiast outside of his professional attire. But, he is also so much more than that. He is a devoted father of 3 young children all under the age of 10, and my best friend. Right now there is no amount of money or fame that would ever tempt me to sacrifice for what I have with him and our 3 children. We don’t have a lot, but I feel I am the luckiest woman and that to me is the greatest feeling. Hudson doesn’t wear a watch because he does not own one, and being the selfless person that he is, he would never consider buying one for himself because he always puts the kids and I before himself. So when I saw this giveaway, I had to share my story. I know if he had this watch, not only would he wear it everyday, but he would be able to stop asking ME ALL THE TIME…..”Honey, what time is it, so this would be a great gift for me! The gift that keeps on giving!

My best dad is my husband who is the best dad in the world. He flew for 3 days non-stop from Afghanistan where is stationed with the Army just to be by my side when I delivered our son. My husband is the best on earth due to the fact that after 30 years of marriage, he still spoils me rotten :)

My husband makes sure our kids are taken care of. Whenever we can’t afford something the kids need, he just works more hours to earn more money. Sometimes it’s hard on him working so much, but he won’t let the kids do without.

At 42 years of age my husband had a quadruple bypass. Eight weeks later he went back to work and never complained. He’s a great father to our kid’s and would do anything for them and me.

My dad was the best ever because he would do anything to keep me safe - even when I thought he was over the top about it all. He really cared.
