Happy Birthday, Sherry!

…
So that leads me to ask: do you celebrate your own birthday? Everyone has one, obviously, but do you or your S.O. make a big deal about it?
I read an article years ago that said parents should make a fuss about themselves and their spouse sometimes - specifically on their birthdays - because it shows the kids that it’s important that even though you’re older some things remain special and deserve to be celebrated. I’m paraphrasing because like I said, it’s been at least 15 years since I read that so there’s no way for me to cite the magazine or the article, but that’s the gist.
It went on to mention doing the whole birthday thing for yourself that you do for the kids - buy or make a cake, take the time to unwrap presents (providing your spouse actually wraps them in the first place!), go out to dinner. That seems like a lot to do when you’ve probably already had a full day of work, household care, errands, and shuttling kids around, but that that right there is exactly why you deserve it! What do you think?

Happy Birthday Sherry!!! My hubby is actually turning 25 tomorrow but unfortunately he isn’t home to have a celebration. We plan on doing something nice and simple (he’s simple) this weekend, a cooking of his favorite dish/or going out to his favorite restaurant, me making his favorite dessert Cherry Crisp (he doesn’t like cake) and I’ve already given him his gifts , since he snooped around till he found them.. such a little boy sometimes!
My birthday is in August, I’m sure my hubby will surprise me with a peach cobbler (my favorite, are we weird?) and a nice dinner in (yes, he cooks) or night out at my favorite restaurant. Since I’m 30 weeks preggo and by then I’ll be close to 36 weeks no adult beverages for me.. LOL as for gifts I’m sure he’ll come up with something good he always does.
